Strong leadership Cumberland Colchester
deserves.

Real Experience.
Real Results.
I grew up in rural Lunenburg County, and I spent much of my childhood with my grandparents who taught me that responsible citizens give back to their community. I have lived in Truro since 2013.
I've been active in business for over 35 years. The past 9 years I have been helping Nova Scotians start and run successful small businesses as an analyst with CBDC. During this time, I have supported the creation of 542 jobs, and disbursed over $7.6 million in funding to Colchester County businesses.
Before that, I had a 30 year career in the hotel and event management fields, including 14 years as Event Manager at White Point Beach Resort near Liverpool.
After our community was attacked in 2020, I stepped up to help Portapique heal. I was one of the driving forces behind the Portaupique Community Build Up + Project. The natural playground opened October 2021, and the new Community Centre opened June 2024 in Portaupique. I am proud to have led fundraising and media relation efforts which secured over $1.5 million to complete those facilities.
Some of my other volunteer efforts have included:
-Member of the Rotary Club of Truro since 2013, and President of the Club 2017-2018
-President of the Central Nova Tourist Association 2014-2016
-Chair/Vice-Chair/Member of the Truro Heritage Advisory Committee
-Member of the Events Truro Colchester Committee
-Member of the Truro Brand Leadership Committee
-Member of the Truro Colchester Welcome Network Steering Committee
-Founding member of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of Meeting Professionals International in 2005 and served as President in 2008-2009
-Atlantic Representative for the Green Meetings Industry Council Canadian Chapter in 2011-2012
-The Canadian Mirror Committee for the ratification of ISO 2012-1 Standards for the London Olympics
-Secretary on the board of the Southwest Nova (UNESCO) Biosphere Reserve Association 2011-2012
I've often thought about going into politics, and the time was never right, until now. I see that our country is at a critical juncture, both with the US tariffs situation and the threat of Pierre Poilievre taking power and handing our country to Trump. I have direct experience in business and job creation, as well as community development initiatives. I believe these skill sets would benefit our community, and the country, and that it is up to all of us who can make a difference, to do so.
On April 28th, I ask for your support to help me to do this.
